PRISMATIC WINGS - FRAMED

Suspended between radiance and shadow, Prismatic Wings turns the butterfly into a figure of sudden release rather than delicate stillness. Its expansive form suggests a moment when change has already begun, yet its destination remains unknown. The work holds energy in suspension, inviting attention to the tension between vulnerability and force.

The dark body, placed just left of center, gives the surrounding brilliance a point of gravity. From there, the wings extend with an almost startling confidence, as though movement could exceed the boundaries of the visible scene. Their vivid divisions do not settle into a single mood; they carry exhilaration, risk, and a trace of defiance together.

Against the deep, shifting field, the butterfly feels less like an isolated natural specimen than a presence passing through an interior weather. Bright accents emerge from the surrounding darkness with the insistence of remembered flashes - moments of clarity that arrive before they can be explained. The contrast makes its freedom feel hard-won rather than effortless.

The fine antennae and legs introduce a measure of fragility beneath the larger display of color. That detail keeps the image from becoming purely emblematic, returning it to the precarious balance of a living thing. What remains is a charged encounter with transformation: radiant, exposed, and still in motion even within apparent stillness.
