PRISMATIC ECHOES - Oil Painting On Canvas By Leonid Afremov

From its concentrated center, a field of radiance gives Prismatic Echoes its unmistakable direction: an inward-held force pressing toward release. The yellow-white burst feels less like a fixed source than a moment of arrival, where opposing energies gather before being sent outward. Around it, widening bands of color carry that momentum into the surrounding dark, making the composition feel suspended between illumination and expansion.

The work’s intensity comes from this tension between concentration and dispersal. Warm golds, oranges, and reds remain nearest the center, while cooler greens, blues, purples, and pinks extend toward the edges, as though the original flash is changing character as it travels. The darker intervals do not quiet the image; they sharpen its sense of depth and make each outward movement feel newly charged.

There is no identifiable scene to contain this energy, so the painting leaves its central event open to association. It may suggest a thought breaking through, a sudden recognition, or the instant when contained feeling becomes impossible to hold. The small pale mark near the lower right introduces a human measure without resolving the work’s larger, radiant mystery.
