I would like to present my hand painted oil on canvas painting (recreation) of the artwork PORTOFINO - LIGURIA, ITALY. I made this piece with the same amount of soul and emotion just like the first original painting. This piece is created with oil paint on artistic canvas using my unique technique of a palette knife. The artwork has texture, you can feel the strokes by touching the painting. By purchasing on this site, you are buying directly from the artist Leonid Afremov. I guarantee your satisfaction and the best customer experience.

The certificate of authenticity will include the name of the owner who purchased the piece of artwork. The certificate is signed by Leonid Afremov. If you buying this painting as a gift, please provide us the name of the gift recipient for the certificate. We can also ship to the address of the recipient of your gift.

about this painting:

Portofino – Liguria, Italy

The Italian fire

In Portofino – Liguria, this truly Italian painting by Leonid Afremov you will find all the things with which you associate this amazing country – the cradle of European civilization. Appropriately to a southern country, it is rich in colors as it is shown in the painting – the houses standing on the canal bank are all as one painted in bright southern colors – purple, orange, yellow, red, burgundy, blue and some shades of brown are also visible. These colors emphasize the image of the sky even more – it is literally strewn with multi-colored brush strokes and we see even more colors on it –blue, turquoise and white are added to those already mentioned. Behind the houses you can see the tops of the hills that look, let us say, the most faded compared with the other elements of the painting. And among them it is impossible not to distinguish the sea surface on which the yachts stand. It also reflects the light of city lanterns that literally ignites it.

Once in Portofino

We very much hope that this canvas will inspire you to make a trip to this Italian town and therefore we have prepared for you a short list of tasks that you must complete upon arrival:

  1. First, you need not to come to Portofino, but to sail, because only from the water you can see the world famous harbor in all its glory: tiny, but unusually picturesque, with colorful houses and fishing boats in contrast with luxury yachts.
  2. Descending from the ship, in Portofino, you immediately, as they say, get to the ball! On Piazzetta Square, you must take a photo, once again sigh at the luxury yachts, look at the faces of passersby: maybe you’ll be lucky and see George Clooney slowly passing you with his new passion!
  3. Looking around, you will immediately notice all the main attractions of Portofino (of which there are very few, because you are in the village and not in the megalopolis!): Brown Castle on a green hill just above the harbor, the yellow crown of St. George's Church next to it, the clock tower of the Divo Martino Church right behind Piazzetta. In addition, on the right side of Piazzetta, right by the port (Marina di Portofino), there is a park-museum with amusing sculptures.

It seems to us that you will get the most pleasant feeling from this painting. In case of purchase, it will fill your home with Italian colors that will always create a southern atmosphere.

I received my painting yesterday and I can't stop looking at it. To think it has come all the way from Mexico to South Africa is amazing. I fell in love with the beautiful, vivid colours of your paintings from the moment I saw the first one and could never imagine that I would be able to afford one of them. Now I need to save up to get it framed!

These are some of the most beautiful paintings I have ever seen. I have just purchased my fourth. There are so many that appeal to me it is difficult to make a choice ! I am amazed that Mr. Afremov takes the time to personally recreate his own paintings. I think it is so wonderful to be able to own one of his actual paintings rather than just a print. I appreciate that he thinks art should be affordable for regular people. Thank you for your vision.
