PASSING GLOWING depicts ancient Celtic symbols layered over a weathered surface, lines looping endlessly. Thick palette knife strokes give the surface a physical, sculpted presence.
Paint is layered and partially scraped back, allowing underlying tones to emerge and interact with light.
The scene feels intimate and tactile, encouraging slow, reflective viewing.

Across its looping tensions, Passing Glowing turns continuity into something emotionally charged, where connection seems inseparable from entanglement. The broad interwoven bands move across the center like a thought that keeps returning, folding back into itself without reaching a final resolution. Their orange and yellow passages carry an inner urgency, while the darker openings interrupt that momentum and give the form room to withhold its meaning. The work feels less like a symbol to decipher than a structure of memory, repeatedly altered by what it encloses.
That tension deepens in the contrast between illuminated ridges and shadowed recesses. The knot appears to advance and recede at once, suggesting that persistence can be both sustaining and confining. Small shifts of rust, teal, and purple keep the surrounding field from becoming passive, as though the atmosphere itself were responding to the movement within. The result is an image with the gravity of an old sign and the unsettled energy of something still becoming understood.
