Its interlocking bands suggest a system that is deliberate without becoming rigid, as though order depends on each section pressing against the next. The result feels less like a fixed solution than a carefully maintained balance between continuity and interruption.

The pale expanses give the darker passages room to assert themselves, while the central yellow vertical acts like a point of emphasis within the broader arrangement. Around it, orange and red gather with a contained urgency, introducing warmth without dissolving the work’s discipline. These accents feel consequential because the surrounding structure holds them in check.

That tension becomes especially apparent where horizontal and vertical directions meet. A turquoise passage extending through the right side briefly shifts the rhythm, offering a sense of release before the darker divisions draw the eye back into the whole.
