about this painting:

Orange forest

Under a roof of foliage

Orange forest, one of the famous forest paintings by Leonid Afremov, represents a magnificent landscape - quiet park alley bordered with clear semicircle of yellowed trees. We see a lonely man walking along the alley. His pace is slow. He enjoys the beauty of the autumn forest. This is how Leonid Afremov called his painting. Although we see an asphalt path and trees planted in a certain form – obviously this painting still reminds us of the park. But perhaps in the distance where the forest turns blue, begin real thickets. The colors that the artist uses should be particularly highlighted. This is of course yellow shades – the trees bordering the alley are depicted in reddish and greenish shades – these colors make the painting especially expressive and realistic because autumn trees look namely in such a way, painted in a whole palette of colors. In the distance we see another green forest and a green lawn. They are so juicy and bright that it's hard to believe that autumn has come. Although still on the trees depicted in the background, we see light purple colors.

The person walking along the alley does not look young. Most likely this is an elderly gentleman who decided to spend his time in nature. He clearly has no place to rush to and he would be glad to enjoy the autumn paints and the beauty of the surrounding nature even all day long. Perhaps it is already quite difficult for him to walk but he still decided to make this trip every day regardless of the weather. Today he is lucky – the weather is fine.

You should also appreciate these unique moments of unity with nature! The more of them will be in your life and the more joyful and healthier you will be!

Autumn park inhabitants

For sure, each of you walking in the park will be pleasantly surprised to meet some wild animal. Let's see what wild animals you can really meet in the park. Besides relatively small animals like hedgehogs, squirrels and rabbits the autumn forest are inhabited by larger animals, for example, such as boars, moose and deer. Watching how these powerful beasts walk around the picturesque parks, the guests become the participants of the events taking place in a true wildlife. If to talk about the birds in the parks you can also find:

  • exotic pheasants
  • gray partridges
  • herons
  • ducks.

You can even find the nests of the corncrake - a small motley bird. Crows and pigeons, who are already become habitual, are also the residents of modern squares, they occupy an important place in their biocenosis. You can hear how woodpeckers – the frequent inhabitants of modern corners of nature - knocking being a few meters away. In addition, various species of owls, hazel grouse, rook, finch and lark can be found here.

My teenaged daughter discovered your art while doing a course in her high school last year. It is Halloween night here in Canada and we were talking about painting and she said "I have to show you this" and found your site. I like the way you use colour and the use of the palette knife is so clever. Inspirational. Beautiful paintings.

Paintings by a modern day impressionist...BEAUTIFUL. The paintings are much more striking in person than the pictures. Monet, Van Gogh, and other impressionists are smiling when they see these works of art.

I have three prints of Mr. Afremov, and I must say that they are the most beautiful works I have ever had the blessing of laying eyes on. I would love to someday be able to afford a print of the one featured today that is reminiscent of the colors of the Russian Autumn, as that is my favorite season. Thank you Mr. Afremov for sharing your gift with the world. If there is anyone reading this that has not yet had the pleasure of owning a painting or print thereof of this gentleman's works, I highly recommend you give one a try. His shipping is fast and items are impeccably wrapped. You will become a lifelong fan, I guarantee it!
