A lowered head and measured stride give Open Presence the gravity of a figure moving through thought rather than toward a destination. The horse occupies the space with calm force, its dark form held between pale architectural blocks and a cool, uncertain ground. This tension between weight and openness makes the work feel suspended between arrival and departure, where presence is not action but sustained attention.
The reflection beneath the hooves deepens that stillness, suggesting a second, less certain version of the journey. Warm brown and copper passages interrupt the darkness without dispelling it, while the mane and tail extend into loose currents of shadow. Nothing resolves into a fixed story; instead, the work leaves room for solitude, endurance, and the inward rhythm of continuing forward.
