This painting looks tridimensional and has a lot of heavy textures
OBSIDIAN SPECTER explores a skeletal silhouette rendered with fractured strokes, glowing with warm highlights, with heavy impasto strokes through layered palette knife textures and sculptural strokes.
Bold impasto ridges catch shifting light, while scraped passages reveal underlying hues and tonal variation.
The composition invites close viewing, highlighting movement, contrast, and expressive material presence.

At the center, darkness gathers with an almost bodily gravity, and Obsidian Specter 1 turns that presence into a study of concealment, pressure, and release. The blackened form feels less like a fixed figure than a force taking shape, suspended between emergence and disappearance. Around it, violet and charcoal passages create an atmosphere of unease without resolving into a single narrative.
A concentrated opening of cream, yellow, and peach interrupts the surrounding severity. It reads as a sudden exposure - not reassurance exactly, but the possibility that what appears sealed may still contain a source of warmth. This contrast gives the work its emotional charge, holding threat and illumination in the same tense field.
The central mass remains fractured, its gray accents suggesting instability rather than solidity. Lavender and mauve forms press inward from the surrounding darkness, making the composition feel animated by forces that never fully settle. Even the small pale mark near the lower edge extends this tension, like a final trace of presence refusing to vanish.
