OBSIDIAN PEAK ENCOUNTER - FRAMED

At the edge of upheaval, Obsidian Peak Encounter turns a mountainous horizon into a threshold between concealment and revelation. Dark ridges hold the lower field in stern suspension, while a concentrated blaze of orange and gold breaks through the surrounding blue like an opening that cannot be fully trusted. The scene feels less like a place to enter than a force gathering beyond ordinary scale.

The central light does not soften the formations; it makes their severity more apparent. A narrow peak rises left of center with the exposed, watchful quality of a marker, while the heavier masses to the right seem to absorb the storm around them. Their silence gives the illuminated sky a charged presence, as though the landscape were bracing for a change already underway.

Warm reds and volcanic oranges spread through the clouded expanse without settling into comfort. They suggest heat, warning, or a distant source of energy, yet the deep navy surrounding them keeps the meaning unresolved. The painting holds these impulses together - danger and attraction, collapse and emergence - without allowing either side to prevail.

What remains is an encounter with a world that feels newly formed and not yet named. The nearly black foreground offers no easy passage, but the light beyond it continues to gather, drawing attention toward the uneasy border where darkness becomes shape and storm becomes illumination.
