Evening by the sea

The magnificent seascape of night harbor appears before our eyes in the colorful painting of Leonid Afremov – it seems that the night city is made of gold. This impression is created by electric lighting – the houses are located on a hill illuminated by lanterns –in the foreground we see the longest house the walls of which literally burn from yellow and orange flames. The houses above are also highlighted but not so bright. In addition, on the left we see a bright glow – apparently, this is a dawn. It paints the sky in no less beautiful colors than the city itself. At first it turns orange, then red and then fills the sky with amazing confetti of colorful strokes. Such an image of the sky can be called a brand feature of Leonid Afremov – we find it in almost every night or evening painting of the artist.
