Mystical Alley is another painting of Leonid Afremov depicting an autumn landscape with bright colors that this time mix with more pastel shades. The painting consists of two parts – the left – a foggy side and the right – the bright side. On the left side, the artist used turquoise, blue, cyan, and violet paint. Namely this part of the painting is mystical. We are used to seeing such images on the pages of detective stories. Looking at this foggy distance we recall London with its fogs. It seems that a horseman is about to ride out of this fog.

But let's look at the right part of the painting. Undoubtedly, what we see on is more characteristic of the artist; in this part, we trace his favorite manner of using as many bright colors as possible. By the way, along the alley there is an even line of lanterns. They are the source of bright colors that are abundantly present in this part of the canvas. This line stretches along the whole painting. But going into the distance it becomes less and less bright, finally falling into the autumn fog.
