MOON ABOVE THE RIVER - FRAMED

Under a sky gathered into luminous darkness, Moon Above the River opens a passage between stillness and distant human presence. The river draws the eye beyond the immediate shore, carrying the moon’s radiance toward a far horizon where scattered lights suggest a city awake but hushed. Its atmosphere is not simply serene; it holds the charged pause of a night in which familiar landmarks have become almost dreamlike.

The moon hangs above the water with a presence that feels both near and unreachable. Around it, the clouds glow as though briefly opened from within, while the darker sky preserves a sense of depth and uncertainty. This tension gives the scene its drama: the night offers illumination, but never complete disclosure.

Along the left bank, pointed towers rise as a distinct silhouette, lending the distant settlement a memory-like character without fixing it to any particular place. Across the river, smaller lights continue the shore’s intermittent rhythm. Their reflections break and lengthen below, turning signs of habitation into wavering traces that seem to belong equally to the landscape and to the observer’s imagination.

The work invites a slower kind of attention, one that moves between the solid outline of the banks and the unstable path of light across the water. What first appears to be a view outward gradually becomes an inward passage - a night held between arrival and departure, where the river keeps its own time beneath the moon.
