MODERN ENERGY - Oil Painting On Canvas By Leonid Afremov

Across its crowded field, Modern Energy turns geometric form into a language of pressure, rhythm, and release. The composition feels less like a scene than a charged system, where rounded presences and angular interruptions continually adjust their distance from one another. Its energy is immediate, yet not chaotic; each form seems to hold its ground while contributing to a larger, unsettled balance.

The three circular forms gathered across the upper half give the work a memorable pulse. They suggest recurring signals or thoughts returning in altered states, never quite repeating themselves. Around them, the surrounding shapes create a sense of movement without pointing toward a destination, allowing the eye to circulate through the composition rather than settle on a single center.

A tall yellow-orange form near the lower right-center introduces a vertical counterweight to that restless rhythm. It can be read as an anchor, a figure, or simply a moment of insistence within the surrounding flux. The possibility of recognition appears briefly, then dissolves back into abstraction, keeping the work open to shifting associations.

Color relationships carry the emotional tension: cool expanses make the warmer forms feel more urgent, while pale passages provide intervals of suspension. The result is bold but not merely exuberant, holding momentum and restraint in the same visual breath. Its modernism lies in that refusal to resolve feeling into a fixed image, leaving energy active and unfinished.
