MERMAID LAGOON - FRAMED

Within a secluded green world, Mermaid Lagoon opens onto a place where movement and stillness remain closely bound. The turquoise pool gathers the light that slips through the canopy, while the descending water keeps the scene from becoming wholly withdrawn. Its richness feels less like an untouched paradise than a sheltered interval - a moment suspended between arrival and disappearance.

The cascades draw the gaze inward, passing from one rocky ledge to the next before widening into the lagoon. This flowing sequence gives the landscape a gentle direction, as though the surrounding woodland were gradually revealing a deeper interior. The distant stream remains partly concealed, preserving a sense of discovery without turning the scene into a fixed narrative.

Along the banks, vivid flowers punctuate the dense greens with brief notes of presence. They suggest that seclusion here is not emptiness; it is a living abundance, continually renewing itself at the edges of quiet. The dark canopy gathers around the water like a protective thought, making the illuminated openings feel temporary and precious.

Across the lagoon, reflections loosen the boundary between what is held in the water and what leans over it. Foliage, light, and color become impressions that shift with the surface, offering no single way to read the place. The work lingers in that uncertainty, balanced between a real landscape and an inward refuge reached by following the sound of falling water.
