MENTAL DISTANCE - FRAMED

The divided horizon gives Mental Distance its central tension: two presences occupy the same expanse without seeming to share it. Their separation feels less like departure than a pause held between recognition and retreat, while the open space around them allows silence to become part of the encounter.

A concentrated amber glow gathers behind the left figure, while the opposite side recedes into blue and teal darkness. This shift does not resolve the distance between them; it makes their difference more palpable, as though each stands within a distinct emotional climate and must look across an uncertainty neither can easily cross.
