Across its shifting fields of color, Loose Knotted Pattern proposes order as something gathered rather than imposed. Rectangular passages meet irregularly, suggesting a visual rhythm that holds together through variation. Deep blue, teal, crimson, ochre, and pale tones do not settle into a single hierarchy; they answer one another in a lively, unsettled register.
The composition rewards attention to its intervals. Horizontal and vertical movements cross, pause, and resume, while curled forms interrupt the steadier blocks with a sense of release. This tension makes the work feel less like a fixed arrangement than a pattern continually finding its balance - energetic, but never hurried.
There is also a quiet intimacy in the title’s suggestion of a knot: connection here is not perfectly smooth, but made from crossings, overlaps, and moments of resistance. The small light mark near the lower-right edge leaves the arrangement slightly open, as though its rhythm extends beyond the frame rather than concluding within it.
