LAYERED FOCUS FOCUS - FRAMED

Across shifting bands of color, Layered Focus Focus considers attention as a movement rather than a fixed state. The composition gathers around a pale blue center, where surrounding passages seem to press inward, interrupting and redirecting the eye. Darker blue-green at the lower edge lends the work a grounded gravity, while warmer notes rising toward the right suggest a gradual opening into possibility. Its abstraction remains invitingly unresolved, allowing focus to feel less like concentration than an act of continual adjustment.

The stacked forms in the upper portion introduce a sense of order, though that order is never entirely secure. Blocks of lavender, yellow, orange, and muted green appear to register against one another like thoughts held in proximity without settling into a single conclusion. The small white mark near the lower-right corner quietly personalizes the otherwise impersonal field, leaving a trace of decision within the larger flux.

What emerges is a balance between structure and release. Horizontal movement gives the lower half a measured rhythm, while the denser vertical arrangement above it seems to test how much complexity the mind can hold before it becomes atmosphere. The painting rewards lingering attention not by revealing a hidden scene, but by allowing perception itself to become the subject - shifting, selective, and alive to relation.
