LANTERN VESSEL VIEW - FRAMED

Against a horizon that feels both geological and imagined, Lantern Vessel View presents a vessel as a keeper of distance, holding the scene’s strange balance between shelter and exposure. Its rounded body occupies the foreground with an almost architectural presence, while the receding shelves of rock draw the eye toward a world that seems to continue beyond ordinary scale. The work’s warm illumination gives this encounter a charged, ceremonial quality without settling its meaning.

The dark opening at the vessel’s neck becomes a point of withheld knowledge - an entrance, perhaps, or simply a boundary between what can be seen and what remains contained. Around it, turquoise shadow and orange light pull in opposite directions, making the object feel grounded in the rocks yet touched by something less familiar. The surrounding cliffs do not explain the vessel; they make its solitude more pronounced.

In the distance, irregular formations rise beneath an expansive blue sky, lending the scene the stillness of a place encountered after a long passage. Yet the vivid violet, gold, and peach notes resist desolation, suggesting that this is not a barren world but an altered one, where the ordinary has acquired a more searching presence. The vessel remains poised at its threshold, carrying the tension between arrival and departure.
