Across a field where pale passages open and interlace, Lace Negative Space draws attention to what remains unoccupied. Its central tension lies between concealment and release: the light forms gather into a kind of fragile architecture, yet their many openings keep it from becoming fixed. The work feels less like an image of something than an invitation to follow a changing rhythm of closeness and distance.
The lace-like shapes seem to move across the composition without arriving at a final boundary. Their repeated openings allow the cooler blue-gray passages to surface, creating the sense of a thought continually interrupted and resumed. This gives the work a meditative instability, as though clarity is present but never fully secured.
Near the lower edge, a dark horizontal presence interrupts the otherwise drifting movement. It lends the composition a quiet gravity, holding the lighter currents above it while refusing to explain them. The contrast leaves the work suspended between atmosphere and structure, where absence is not emptiness but an active, shaping force.
