JOINED BALANCE presents two ghosts floating together, translucent forms overlapping softly with a desaturated environment receding into depth, placing the paired figures clearly in the foreground.

Between presence and disappearance, Joined Balance considers companionship as a fragile condition rather than a fixed promise. The paired figures seem to share a single uncertain space, close enough to suggest dependence yet distinct enough to preserve an inward distance. Their pale, spectral presence gives the work an eerie tenderness, as if connection has survived after ordinary identities have begun to fade.
The two forms stand together without offering a clear account of what brought them there. Small dark openings near their upper sections resist any simple reading, hinting at guarded awareness, absence, or the remnants of faces withheld from recognition. Around them, the subdued field recedes into ambiguity, making their closeness feel less like an event than a sustained state of attention.
What holds the work is the tension between shelter and unease. The figures appear joined, but not resolved; their companionship carries the gravity of something continually negotiated. Muted mauve, gray-green, beige, and brown deepen this suspended atmosphere, while the surrounding darkness seems to gather rather than close around them. The result is a meditation on how two presences can occupy the same silence without becoming the same.
