JADE JELLY B&W - Oil Painting On Canvas By Leonid Afremov

Against a weather-bound horizon, Jade Jelly B&w turns an encounter with the sea into a meditation on presence and distance. The luminous jellyfish seems suspended between two elements, neither fully belonging to the dark sky nor the restless water below. Its green radiance gives the surrounding grayness a sense of depth, as though stillness could briefly appear within a troubled world.

The descending tentacles draw the eye toward the water without resolving the space between creature and reflection. Below, the color returns in broken fragments, suggesting not a simple mirror but an altered counterpart - something recognized only after it has been disturbed. This tension gives the scene its unusual calm: the ocean moves, yet the central figure remains remote and composed.

The work’s drama comes less from spectacle than from concentration. A small territory of emerald light holds against the charcoal atmosphere, while the low horizon keeps the image open to associations of solitude, endurance, and suspension. The jellyfish may feel alien, but its quiet descent also carries a fragile familiarity, like a presence glimpsed where ordinary certainty has receded.
