Held at the threshold between waking and wonder, Iridescent Stillness turns the dragonfly into a study of suspended attention. Its diagonal presence feels less like an arrival than a moment briefly released from motion, while the surrounding violet and teal deepen the sense of an atmosphere without a fixed horizon. The work invites contemplation of delicacy not as fragility, but as a form of alertness.
The wings carry this thought outward through their fine, translucent veining, where violet, blue, orange, and rose seem to meet without settling into a single identity. Bright reflections gather around the body and head, giving the insect an almost jewel-like vigilance. It appears poised between the tangible and the dreamlike, familiar in form yet elusive in feeling.
That tension is held by the narrow legs extending downward into open space. They suggest contact without anchoring the creature, as though stillness here is an active balance rather than an absence of movement. Against the softly shifting vertical field, the dragonfly becomes a small emblem of attention - present, luminous, and wholly absorbed in the instant before flight.
