about this painting:

The circle of time

This impressive painting by Leonid Adremov depicts a city alley, and it is especially pleasant for us to look at the canvas, for the time depicted there is the time of holiday. We all like this time that comes every year and turns our life into an intelligible process where we can think of time, put different events of our lives in context and feel the very nature of time that both changes and repeats. Those who like holidays and their solemn atmosphere are likely to appreciate this enchanting canvas by Leonid Afremov whose skilfulness in depicting the world is beyond human understanding.

The joy of holidays

As stated above, this fine oil artwork is dedicated to a holiday. Why do we like such events, besides for the trivial reasons everybody knows?

1.            Holidays organise our life and give a sense to our temporal dimension.

2.            Holidays are connected with different rites that renew and reshape our life and thus cause real changes in our life.

In immediate proximity to festivities

Looking at this enchanting oil painting created by Leonid Afemov, we see a night alley in some night city park. It is some holiday, and the dark blue evening sky is decorated with the variegated splashes of salute. On the very horizon the bleeding sun is being sacrificed to the darkness. The strict rows of lampposts that today seem to be almost holly are filling the chill evening air with their dazzling yellow glow. The trees of the alley stand behind them, modest and plunged into the cold gloom and shadows, with some small building visible between the black leafless trunks. And you can see the crowd of people before: their dark silhouettes are vague and small, and their eyes are directed toward the sun whose incarnadine blood is painting the horizon and the very ground that seems to be echoing the rare scarlet drops from the sun’s wounds.

Buy this excellent canvas in oil skilfully painted by Leonid Afremov, and it will everlastingly remind you of the most precious moments of your life that are likely to be connected with such holidays.

I'm from Italy and I ordered the painting "Rainy Wedding" on November 3rd. I received it 5 days ago and...IT'S AMAZING!!! Now I'm wainting for the frame, that is going to be made by an artisan in my town, and next week, finally, the painting will be on my wall! Thank you, Afremov, your art is fantastic! (and your service too!!!)

I received my Leonid Afremov picture last year, soon after my father had passed away. The picture came, with a (in my eyes) father and daughter walking together into what was only so colorful, that it was my interpretation of heaven. The colors, so vivid, so absolutely perfectly placed, I get immersed in the painting each time I am around it. I love my painting, and so does everyone who has had the honor to see it. From placing the order to receiving, with quality and accuracy, I would give it 5 stars. Thank you!!!

I just discovered "Misty Mood" on Jeff Foster's FB page, and I was immediately struck straight through my heart. I began to cry and I don't know why, but it apparently captures a forgotten memory of my younger years. I've never ever had anyone's painting move me to tears (and they just won't quit now). I look forward to being able to purchase this powerfully meaningful, moving work of art!!
