HILLS DETAIL - FRAMED

Across shifting bands of distance and intensity, Hills Detail turns the idea of a landscape into a study of movement. The upper blue expanse suggests open air, yet the sloping forms below refuse a settled horizon, pulling the eye through successive changes of weight and direction. It feels less like a place observed than a moment of passage, where land and sky remain in active negotiation.

The pale central divide brings a brief sense of suspension between the darker fields above and the urgent reds below. Rather than separating calm from turbulence, it allows them to press against one another, making the composition feel charged with an energy that has not yet resolved. The orange-red sweep carries the strongest forward impulse, like a current crossing the scene without announcing where it leads.

Toward the lower edge, the deep crimson and blue bands gather into something more grounded, though not entirely still. Their layered rhythm suggests memory taking shape in fragments - a remembered slope, a distant weather front, or simply the mind giving order to motion. A small light mark near the lower right quietly interrupts that momentum, leaving the work open to continuation rather than closure.
