HIDDEN VESSEL THUNDER - FRAMED

In the pause between departure and return, Hidden Vessel Thunder holds a room where privacy feels provisional and time seems briefly suspended. The solitary bathtub beneath the divided window is less a place of retreat than a vessel for waiting, carrying the suggestion of a life paused before its next decision. Its worn presence gives the silence a human measure without resolving who has left or what may follow.

The reflected geometry of the tiled floor draws the room inward, making the empty space feel deeper than its walls allow. This doubling unsettles the bathtub’s apparent stability: it seems grounded, yet also held within a second, quieter room beneath it. The cool blue atmosphere does not erase intimacy; it makes intimacy feel distant, remembered rather than fully present.

A small warmth within the tub’s darker interior resists the surrounding stillness, like a remnant of welcome that has not entirely vanished. Beyond it, the luminous window offers no identifiable view, only an opening toward elsewhere. The work lingers in that tension between shelter and exposure, inviting the room to be read as a threshold rather than a destination.
