At the heart of this work, concealment becomes a form of expansion, as if an unseen force were gathering itself before moving outward. In Hidden Scene, the central dark form gives that tension a precise focus, holding back the surrounding surge while also seeming to generate it. The result is less a depiction of something hidden than an encounter with pressure, emergence, and the unstable boundary between enclosure and release.
The work’s fractal impulse appears in the way smaller directional forms echo a larger movement without settling into a fixed pattern. Yellow and orange passages flare around the upper and right sides, while red, magenta, and violet intensify the outer field. Their energy does not simply radiate from the center; it folds back through the composition, making the eye repeatedly reconsider where the beginning of the movement might be.
