HELD BALANCED depicts a single ripe banana resting on a textured surface, skin catching warm highlights. Thick palette knife strokes give the surface a physical, sculpted presence.
Paint is layered and partially scraped back, allowing underlying tones to emerge and interact with light.
The scene feels intimate and tactile, encouraging slow, reflective viewing.

In this vivid meditation on ripeness and suspension, Held Balanced turns an ordinary fruit into a measure of poise, caught between abundance and the first signs of change. Its curved body seems almost buoyant, while the darkened stem quietly anchors that sense of precarious ease. The image holds playfulness and fragility together without resolving either, inviting attention to the brief moment when something familiar becomes newly strange.
The banana’s bright presence presses against a restless field of lavender, pink, turquoise, and blue, making its warmth feel both immediate and fleeting. Brown speckles along the peel introduce time into an otherwise buoyant scene, suggesting that balance is never static but continually passing through ripeness, wear, and renewal. What begins as a simple still life opens into a reflection on how vividly the ordinary can occupy the mind.
