GENTLE RITUAL 2 - FRAMED

Against the pull between order and upheaval, Gentle Ritual 2 holds a meditation on persistence, where calm is not given but repeatedly gathered. Its broad field of deep blue suggests an inward space, while the pale irregular presence at the right interrupts that stillness with something more open and exposed. The work feels less like a scene than a private arrangement of forces, suspended between withdrawal and return.

The rust-colored forms introduce a grounded, almost architectural gravity, yet they never settle into a fixed structure. They seem to mark the memory of boundaries - places where thought has paused, divided, or begun again. Around them, teal and charcoal passages keep the composition unsettled, allowing the eye to move through uncertainty without turning it into confusion.

What makes the work compelling is its refusal to resolve the tension it creates. The light area can read as an arrival, a clearing, or simply a presence that cannot be absorbed by the surrounding darkness. That openness gives the composition its contemplative charge: a sense of ritual not as ceremony, but as the gradual making of room for what remains unresolved.
