This painting looks tridimensional and has a lot of heavy textures
GENTLE PATTERN explores an arrangement of bold angular geometric shapes, shifting in uneven illumination, dragged into sculptural patterns through layered palette knife textures and sculptural strokes.
Bold impasto ridges catch shifting light, while scraped passages reveal underlying hues and tonal variation.
The composition invites close viewing, highlighting movement, contrast, and expressive material presence.

Within its charged geometry, Gentle Pattern 2 proposes order as something continually renegotiated rather than securely held. Rectangular forms press against one another in an asymmetrical rhythm, creating a sense of movement without leaving the bounds of structure. The deep navy field gives the composition a moment of gravity, while vivid interruptions keep that gravity from becoming stillness. Its energy feels deliberate, yet never entirely settled.
The irregular, stepped meetings between the color fields suggest a pattern assembled through instinct as much as calculation. Orange, turquoise, red, and yellow do not simply brighten the arrangement; they alter its tempo, causing the eye to move, pause, and return. Small passages of gray, purple, and olive temper the stronger notes, allowing the work to retain complexity beneath its immediate boldness.
Seen as a whole, the composition holds the tension between architecture and improvisation. No single block becomes the final authority, and the smaller light mark near the lower-right edge introduces a modest human trace without resolving the larger design. The result is an abstract field that feels active and composed at once, inviting sustained attention to how balance can emerge from interruption.
