GARDEN STUDY - FRAMED

Beneath the flowering canopy, Garden Study presents an encounter suspended between approach and withdrawal. The unicorn lowers its head toward the water, not as a figure of conquest but as though entering a private interval of recognition. Its pale presence gathers the surrounding garden into a moment that feels less enchanted than attentive, where wonder depends on stillness rather than spectacle.

The reflection below complicates the scene’s calm. It is not merely an echo of the animal, but a second presence that seems to draw the gaze downward and inward. Between the living figure and its wavering counterpart, the water holds a fragile tension - the possibility that what is sought in the garden may be found only in its altered image.

Behind this suspended gesture, pink blossoms and dark branching trunks create an atmosphere of abundance without crowding the unicorn’s solitude. The soft illumination gives the scene a remembered quality, though nothing specific is recalled. Instead, the garden feels like a threshold where innocence and awareness briefly occupy the same quiet space.

The lowered head remains the work’s defining movement, turning the unicorn away from display and toward reflection. In that posture, its horn becomes less a sign of fantasy than a delicate point of attention, directed toward the uncertain boundary between surface and depth. The scene lingers there, poised between the visible world and the meanings it quietly invites.
