GARDEN OF BLUE FIRE - Oil Painting On Canvas By Leonid Afremov

At the heart of an enclosed passage, Garden of Blue Fire turns departure into a charged encounter with the unknown. The cool path draws the eye inward, while the distant radiance suggests not an arrival but a threshold - a place where familiar direction gives way to heightened awareness. Its garden feels less like a refuge than a living passage through uncertainty.

The surrounding darkness presses gently toward the center, giving the scene an intimacy that is almost secretive. Tall blossoms and overhanging foliage seem to guard what lies beyond, while the blue current of the path keeps its promise of movement. The work holds stillness and momentum together, as though the moment before revelation has been extended indefinitely.

That central blaze complicates the garden’s calm. Rising through violet, coral, and gold, it can be read as illumination, warning, or the afterimage of a desire that has finally found a visible form. Nothing resolves the ambiguity. The brightness remains remote enough to invite approach, yet strange enough to preserve its mystery.

The large flowers in the foreground bring the imagined journey back into the realm of intimate attention. Their nearness contrasts with the vanishing distance ahead, making the work feel suspended between contemplation and passage. What begins as a path through vegetation becomes a meditation on the inner landscapes we enter when the way forward is beautiful, uncertain, and impossible to fully name.
