about this painting:
In the winter park
If you are a true admirer of Leonid Afremov's talent, then you probably know that the artist's favorite time of year is autumn, but on this canvas we find a winter landscape. Leonid Afremov depicted a stream in a park. The whole earth is covered with a thick layer of snow. However, judging by the sky, the approaching of spring is felt in the air – it is no longer as gray as in the coldest winter months, slowly filling with light colors. And it seems that the ice on the river is already very thin – it reflects the first warm sunshine. But of course the trees are still bare – they have just dropped their snow covering and their branches straighten out. Well, it will take quite a lot of time before they will be covered with fresh spring foliage. And although on the canvas we do not see a single bird, it seems that the park is filled with a whole cacophony of the sounds of nature –birds singing, water purl, creaking of bare branches bending under the strong March wind.
The spring danger
In this canvas, one of the spring paintings included in the landscapes collection of the artist, the frozen brook is not only a beautiful sight but also a source of danger for children and fishermen. Every year rescuers warn them about the danger of walking on the spring ice. It is still too thin and fragile; its thickness under the cover of snow is only 2.5-3 centimeters whereas it must be at least 5-7 centimeters.
Here are some simple but at the same time very important rules we all forget about:
- Never go on the ice if you are alone.
- Before stepping on the ice, make sure it is durable, assess the situation, mark the route, along which you can return.
- Tap with a long stick on the ice in front of you and on the sides – if water appears on the ice surface, then you need to carefully turn back.
Let this painting of Leonid Afremov fill your home with spring mood and warmth. With it, you will certainly feel the joy and warmth in your soul.
