At the edge of anticipation, Frosted Tee Start turns a poised form into a study of pressure, balance, and release. The rounded shape holds the gaze above its slender vertical support, as though a single instant has been drawn out before motion begins. Its unusual scale gives the familiar golfing gesture a more inward, almost emblematic presence.
The form gathers opposing energies within itself. Deep blue and violet settle into its left side, while cream and gold open toward the right, creating the impression of warmth arriving through cold air. Crimson, magenta, and orange keep that illumination from becoming serene; they give the moment a pulse and a sense of contained force.
The narrow stem carries the composition downward like a line of concentration, anchoring the suspended mass without resolving its tension. Around it, horizontal and swirling marks suggest movement passing behind a fixed point, making the central object feel briefly isolated from the rhythm around it. The work stays poised between stillness and the instant when stillness breaks.
That tension allows the image to move beyond a simple golfing reference. It can be read as a meditation on readiness - the charged interval in which direction has been chosen but consequence has not yet arrived. The small pale accent near the lower right quietly extends this feeling, like a final glint from an otherwise unsettled field.
