Freshness of Cold

Two seasons

In this painting, Leonid Afremov was able to depict the meeting of two seasons – autumn and winter. The canvas is called Freshness of Cold and we really feel it looking at the painting. The artist manages to create this feeling through the use of various colors. Colors like cyan, blue, and violet are very strongly associated with cold and winter. So looking at this painting we literally feel winter freshness. But in the canvas there is a place for other colors – colors of autumn – yellow and orange, which painted not only trees but also buildings that are in the background. In general, this city causes us some kind of magical feeling, as if we were in a fairy tale. In which one – it’s up to you to decide, in which one.
