about this painting:

Foggy day

Season of romance

For centuries, poets and artists have praised autumn’s beauty and special spirit. The last splendor of nature trying to strike us with the brightest of its colors before going to long winter sleep, the charm of rainy weather, the sweet brood that seizes us in this time of the year are an endless source of inspiration for creative people. Autumn is indeed the most elegant and poetic of all seasons. Its pleasures are countless. Whether you are out on a nice day, enjoying the glowing colors of the trees and taking in the last warmth of the sun, or watching streams of rain from your window, wrapped in a cozy blanket and with a cup of hot tea in your hand, autumn always has something up its sleeve for a true romantic. If you love autumn just as much as Leonid Afremov, you will definitely be delighted with this amazing park view!

Misty walk

It was raining all night and in the morning the city woke up drowned in impenetrable fog, so thick one could barely see a few feet ahead. Light drizzle was still hanging in the air refreshing your face with a cloud of tiny drops. The park alley was all wet and even though you tried to pick the driest spots your steps were still accompanied by rhythmic splashing. The mist seemed to have ripped the world of all its colors, but even its bone-piercing chilliness wasn’t enough to muffle the exuberance of autumn foliage. Yellow, orange, red and crimson, the leaves on the trees kept flaming even brighter against the pale cloudy sky. This striking contrast between the numbness of the mist-covered city and the vigor of the fiery tree palette is perfectly captured in the amazing autumn landscape by Leonid Afremov that you see on your computer screen.

Peculiarities of the painting manner

  1. The colors are chosen very carefully; delicate pale shades are set off marvelously by dabs of bright warm hues here and there.
  2. The paint is applied in loose angular strokes of the palette knife which gives the canvas its unusual style and incredible texture.
  3. The composition can be called minimalistic, but it has everything it needs to draw the eye and evoke emotional response in the viewer.

You can buy this wonderful painting right now on Leonid Afremov’s site and in a couple of days it will already hang in your room filling it with beauty and romance! Or, if you are inspired by ‘Foggy Day,’ paint an autumn landscape of your own and try to capture the mysterious charm of the fall just like the artist did!

I generally don't like blurry style pictures, but I liked these a lot. Unfortunately, I can't afford them, but I did share the article link that led me here with relatives. Some of them will probably check out this web site, too. Mr. Afremov, your art work is lovely!
