about this painting:
Flowing under the Bridge
Autumn in the park
In this bridge painting, the artist depicted his favorite time of year – autumn. We understand this thanks to the presence of a huge number of bright colors – yellow, green, red, blue, and even purple. The canvas resembles a rainbow, an autumn rainbow. Red is present, though not so bright, but in a rather large amount. Orange can be seen in the background, in the forest, where it is mixed with yellow. Yellow can also be seen on the right bank. Here the grass looks most vivid and this shade even reflects in the crystal clear surface of the pond. In the background, you can find shades of green in the forest. These are trees that did not have time to turn yellow. But it seems that in a few days the whole park will turn yellow and will not be so beautiful. There is a lot of blue in the painting and it is impossible to say for sure whether the artist wanted to use it for the image of the sky that is very tightly adjacent to the tops of the trees or for another reason. The blue in the bridge painting is very bright and very expressive. This is perhaps the brightest color on the canvas. And finally purple! The artist uses it in almost every autumn painting. Here it is reflected in the surface of the pond as well as yellow!
We described the color scheme of the painting but we did not say anything about the bridge, which is the main object of the canvas. On the one hand, this is an ordinary park bridge that can be found in almost any park, but each bridge has its own unique features. Let's see which bridges of the world can be called the most beautiful:
- Charles Bridge, Prague. Built in 1357 as part of Emperor Charles IV’s vision of majestic Prague, Charles Bridge connects the Old Town and the New Town crossing the Vltava River.
- Rainbow Banpo fountain bridge, Seoul. Banpo Bridge in Seoul is made in the form of a decorative rainbow fountain, which shoots with jets of water.
- Puente Nuevo, Ronda, Spain. The construction of the bridge took 42 years. It was completed in 1751. The construction of the bridge claimed 50 lives.
Enjoy the autumn colors of Leonid Afremov’s paintings and autumn will always be in your heart because it is the most beautiful time of the year!
