FLOOR REFLECTION - Oil Painting On Canvas By Leonid Afremov

FLOOR REFLECTION — A contemplative study in contrast, FLOOR REFLECTION draws the eye into the meeting point between a cropped dark figure and its elongated reflection. Warm illumination on one side gives way to a cooler, quieter atmosphere, creating a poised sense of urban stillness.

Expressive, heavily textured strokes build an abstract reflective surface with the tactile energy of impasto. Burnt orange, ochre, amber, and rust-brown forms glow across the left half, while slate gray and blue-gray marks broaden across the right. A dark vertical figure establishes the central axis, its lower-body shapes extending into a long reflection toward the bottom edge. Broken horizontal and vertical gestures suggest rippling light, pavement, or water, while cream accents temper the deeper tones. The cropped figure remains deliberately elusive, allowing reflection, color, and surface movement to carry the scene. A small pale mark appears near the lower-right corner.

Its strong vertical axis and balanced warm-cool division make this work a compelling focal point for a living room, hallway, study, or creative workspace. The quiet urban mood suits interiors that favor expressive texture and atmospheric abstraction, while the orange-and-blue-gray interplay brings visual warmth without losing restraint. Viewed up close, the layered marks invite attention to their fractured surface; from across the room, the silhouette and reflection resolve into a memorable graphic presence.
