Suspended above a sleeping metropolis, Floating Over the City turns urban distance into a charged threshold, where the city below feels less like a destination than a realm temporarily left behind. The elevated figures remain unreadable, poised between departure and watchfulness, while the dense buildings gather beneath them like a memory that still exerts gravity. Its tension comes from that uncertain freedom: escape is visible, yet never fully separated from the lives continuing below.
The warm sky opens a space of possibility, but the many lit windows return the scene to human scale. Each small glow suggests an unseen interior without resolving who waits there or what they know of the silhouettes overhead. The smaller airborne group at the edge adds another measure of distance, making the central passage feel neither solitary nor secure. The city becomes a field of divided perspectives - those who remain within its illuminated depths and those who have risen beyond them.
