about this painting:

Bonding with nature

Tree paintings on canvas as our bond with nature

From time to time we all want to be close to nature. It’s one of our basic instincts as we are an essential part of it. We want to go hiking in the mountains, have a picnic on the bank of the river or just go to the park. However, our life has gotten so busy that we can hardly get out of the city for a couple of hours, let alone a few days. We get up in the morning, make breakfast, rush to work, back home, have dinner and go to bed. We hardly even see our family and friends as we get so exhausted during the day. We really need to feel our bond with nature and spend at least couple of hours with our loved ones. If there’s no chance for you to get out, make sure to bring nature to your home. The easiest way to do it is to decorate it with paintings of trees and other interior design items connected with nature. Abstract canvases with tree motifs are very original elements for modern interiors which can brighten any room of your house and add some special beauty to it.

Leonid Afremov’s Fire Tree

In this wonderful painting of Leonid Afremov we can see a wet alley in the park and a lonely figure of a woman hiding from the rain under her white umbrella. The name of this canvas is Fire Tree. Can you guess why? On the foreground we can see a beautiful tree that looks like it’s on fire. Why is it so? There is a lantern which is trying to warm the tree with its warm yellow glow. Its wet leaves reflect every bit of light coming from the lantern and absorb every bit of its warmth.  This lonely lantern gives its warmth not only to this tree but also to all people who passes by. It wants to share it with everybody and everything around. We can clearly see three predominant colors in the painting. What are they?

  • The shades of blue which deliver the coldness of night to us;
  • The shades of yellow to show us the warmth coming from the lantern;
  • Red to enhance the effect the yellow color gives us.

 Fire Tree can become not only piece of nature in your interior but also a perfect adornment to your home. It will definitely draw attention of all of your guests.

I've ordered 2 paintings from Mr. Afremov. The first one, Night Cafe, arrived yesterday (Friday, June 12), and it is absolutely beautiful. The photos of his work on his web page get your attention with their style and use of colors. But you can have no idea of just how beautiful his paintings actually are until you actually have one in hand. Not just his use of color, but also his mastery of painting using only a palette knife, which gives the painting a layered 3-d effect. If you're even thinking about buying one of his works, don't think.....buy. You will not be disappointed.
