This painting looks tridimensional and has a lot of heavy textures
FADING LIGHT depicts a single ripe banana resting on a textured surface, skin catching warm highlights. Thick palette knife strokes give the surface a physical, sculpted presence.
Paint is layered and partially scraped back, allowing underlying tones to emerge and interact with light.
The scene feels intimate and tactile, encouraging slow, reflective viewing.

Within its suspended pause, Fading Light turns an ordinary fruit into a meditation on ripeness, attention, and the brief interval before change becomes unmistakable. The banana’s curved form seems held between abundance and decline, its warm brightness carrying the pleasure of the present while its darkened stem and scattered marks quietly acknowledge time.
The diagonal crescent gives the subject a sense of measured movement, though nothing is going anywhere. It rests in a stillness that feels deliberate rather than empty, inviting the eye to remain with an object usually noticed only in passing. The painting’s intimacy comes from this refusal to make the modest seem insignificant.
Warm illumination gathers along the banana’s central ridge, while a cool shadow settles beneath it and shifts the mood toward contemplation. That meeting of warmth and restraint keeps the image from becoming merely cheerful; it suggests how tenderness can coexist with the knowledge that every moment of freshness is temporary.
The pale ground offers no story beyond the encounter itself, leaving room for associations with solitude, nourishment, and the quiet rituals of looking closely. Brown flecks along the lower curve become small signs of passage, not symbols with a fixed meaning, and the fruit remains suspended in a gentle tension between being cherished and being allowed to fade.
