FACETED FRUIT BOWL - Oil Painting On Canvas By Leonid Afremov

Held between abundance and order, Faceted Fruit Bowl turns a familiar still life into a study of chosen intensity. The gathered fruit seems less concerned with natural likeness than with the tension between fullness and structure, each form asserting its presence within the shallow vessel. Its bold arrangement gives ordinary plenty a ceremonial poise, as though abundance has been briefly disciplined without losing its warmth.

The irregular rim of the bowl introduces a human scale to that vivid gathering. Around it, the angular forms resist softness and easy sentiment, suggesting that pleasure here is active rather than passive - something assembled, weighed, and held in balance. The surrounding blue atmosphere extends this feeling beyond the object itself, leaving the still life suspended between domestic familiarity and a more charged, graphic world.

A dark shape beneath the bowl anchors the composition with a note of gravity, keeping its brightness from becoming merely celebratory. The short stems hint at the fruit’s connection to growth and season, while the segmented forms seem to preserve a moment just before change takes over. What remains is a concentrated encounter with plenty, where color becomes a language of vitality and restraint shares the same breath.
