DRIFT WINDOW - FRAMED

Between enclosure and release, Drift Window holds a threshold without offering passage. Its central opening feels less like a view onto a known place than a pause in the act of seeing - a space where the mind searches for orientation and finds something more unsettled. Surrounding fields of saturated color give that pause an active charge, as though stillness here is never entirely separate from change.

The pale divided panels suggest clarity, yet the irregular bars crossing them keep it provisional. Warm intervals interrupt the cool openness, bringing a sense of thought repeatedly revised rather than resolved. The work’s energy comes from this tension: an apparent structure that refuses to become a fixed room, and an opening that seems to look inward as much as outward.

Along the lower edge, horizontal bands gather like traces of movement after the central silence has been disturbed. They do not settle into a path, but carry the composition toward continuation, allowing the eye to move beyond the opening without leaving it behind. What remains is a vivid meditation on thresholds as states of mind - unstable, charged, and briefly illuminated.
