DREAMING STREETS - Oil Painting On Canvas By Leonid Afremov

Warm windows gather along an otherwise hushed passage, where Dreaming Streets turns the familiar city lane into a threshold between arrival and reverie. The architecture narrows toward a cool, distant center, while the surrounding glow suggests that the street is not empty so much as briefly unclaimed - a place suspended between the last movement of evening and whatever comes next.

The dark branches pressing into the upper frame give the scene a sheltered quality, as though the buildings have been drawn inward beneath a shared canopy. Small lit windows punctuate the façades without revealing their lives, leaving the imagination to dwell on presence held at a remove. The street becomes intimate through its restraint, inviting attention to what remains unsaid.

Across the pavement, elongated reflections carry the warm lights downward into blue and violet, making the ground seem to remember the buildings above it. This reversal gently unsettles the scene: illumination is no longer confined to windows or lamps, but travels through the passage in shifting traces. The result is a city experienced less as a destination than as a fleeting state of mind.
