DREAMING PALETTE KNIFE Oil Painting On Canvas By Leonid Afremov

DREAMING — A vivid meditation on inner quiet, this composition brings a closed-eyed figure and a curled cat together in a richly layered dreamscape. Its expressive color and tactile marks create an atmosphere that feels both intimate and boldly surreal.

The face rises at the upper center, modeled in warm orange and pink with blue-violet contour accents and peacefully closed eyes. Radiating floral and feather-like forms surround it, including bright red-orange blooms and scattered circular details. A sweeping arc of turquoise, cobalt, yellow, orange, and white crosses the right side before descending toward the center. Below, a colorful cat stretches across the foreground, its pointed ears and visible face defined through orange, cream, yellow, blue, and violet strokes. Thick, energetic marks and fragmented color planes animate the charcoal, black, gray, and white ground, while bright highlights intensify the contrast.

This striking work can energize a living room, reading nook, studio, or contemplative corner with its saturated palette and introspective subject. It rewards close viewing: the central expression offers calm, while the surrounding shapes, textured gestures, and curled feline form keep the eye moving through the composition. A compelling choice for interiors that welcome expressive figurative abstraction, surreal color, and a sense of imaginative escape.
