DREAM IN WHITE - Oil Painting On Canvas By Leonid Afremov

Suspended between arrival and release, Dream in White gives grace a sense of motion without sacrificing its calm. The woman seems caught in a moment when balance becomes freedom, her lifted posture opening the pale blue-gray expanse around her. Rather than depicting escape as drama, the work approaches it as a brief state of trust - the body moving forward while the mind remains untroubled.

The wide reach of her arms creates a feeling of welcome, yet her airborne pose keeps the gesture from becoming literal. She appears neither to be arriving nor leaving, but inhabiting the delicate interval between the two. Light gathers around the white dress and softens its edges, allowing the figure to feel less anchored to a particular place than to a fleeting inner conviction.

That sense of suspension is quietly complicated by the near-touch of one foot below. The work holds freedom and return in the same gesture, suggesting that serenity may depend not on abandoning the ground but on meeting it lightly. Against the muted atmosphere, her swept-back hair and extended leg preserve a trace of wind, as though movement continues even after the image has become still.
