Deep Blue Night - 100% hand-painted oil painting on canvas

Between the open field and the star-filled sky, Deep Blue Night considers the stone circle as a place of attention rather than a fixed monument. Its uneven ring seems to hold the surrounding darkness for a moment, while the great moon gathers the scattered lights into a calm, watchful presence. The work feels suspended between earthly stillness and something more elusive, where silence becomes a form of expectancy.

The stones carry both weight and illumination, their bright edges suggesting that what endures is not necessarily immovable. Beyond them, the distant landforms recede without closing the scene, leaving the circle connected to a wider, unmeasured night. The image’s serenity is therefore not empty; it contains the tension of a threshold, a pause before understanding arrives.

In the foreground, the winding movement of grasses and small flowers leads inward without becoming a path with a known destination. That gentle pull gives the scene a meditative rhythm, as if the land were remembering an older pattern beneath the visible world. The moon remains clear but not explanatory, allowing the painting to preserve its sense of wonder without resolving it.
