A charged study of inward gesture, Curved Hand turns a simple bodily form into an ambiguous sign of withdrawal, concentration, or touch held just short of contact. The curled fingers gather the surrounding mauve, burgundy, and lavender tensions toward a private center, while the dark creases lend the gesture a sense of resolve rather than softness. Its close cropping makes the hand feel less like a portrait than a threshold between impulse and restraint.
The surrounding arcs of color seem to press inward without fully enclosing it, creating a drama that remains suspended. Small gold accents flicker through the darker passages, like brief interruptions in a thought that cannot settle. The work holds intimacy and distance together: the hand is unmistakably human, yet its reduced, almost symbolic presence leaves its meaning open, allowing tenderness, guardedness, and longing to coexist without resolving into a single story.
