This painting looks tridimensional and has a lot of heavy textures
CRUSHED BALANCE presents expanded abstract shapes floating in a shallow space, their scale exaggerated to overwhelm the viewer, rendered at an exaggerated scale that fills the canvas.
Thick palette knife strokes build ridges, edges, and layered surfaces that give the paint a sculptural quality.
The composition balances raw energy with controlled structure.

Suspended between weight and release, Crushed Balance turns a field of fractured forms into a meditation on precarious order. Its imagined structures seem to hover just beyond gravity, held together not by symmetry but by a shifting agreement between opposing forces. The broad central mass presses diagonally through the composition, giving the work a sense of motion that never quite becomes collapse.
The forms appear monumental because their scale exceeds the shallow space around them, yet the lower reflections quietly unsettle that authority. Broken echoes drift beneath the hovering shapes, suggesting that stability here is provisional - something continually revised by movement, distance, and light. Bright passages along the upper edges offer brief moments of clarity against the deeper, saturated shadows.
What makes the balance compelling is its refusal to settle into calm. Lavender, violet, orange, and pale aqua meet with the intensity of separate impulses, while the dark undersides preserve a sense of consequence beneath the radiance. The result feels dreamlike without becoming weightless: a suspended world where order survives, but only in a state of constant negotiation.
