CLOUD FIGURE - Oil Painting On Canvas By Leonid Afremov

CLOUD FIGURE — An airy, dreamlike scene emerges from an expansive field of deep navy, cobalt, and sky blue. A solitary human figure rises amid luminous cloud forms, creating a sense of openness, movement, and quiet drama.

Positioned slightly above center and facing right, the figure wears a wide-brimmed white hat with a tall crown and irregular brim. Dark hair streams leftward beneath it, while a loosely defined light-blue garment blends into the surrounding atmosphere. Layered white and pale-blue forms overlap the lower body and sweep across the foreground. Bright highlights bring the hat and clouds forward against the darker blue setting. Thick, visible brushstrokes create an expressive impasto surface, with sculptural paint shapes adding depth and tactile energy. A small dark brown form appears among the lower-left clouds, and a black handwritten-style mark is visible near the lower-right corner.

The strong blue-and-white palette gives this work immediate visual presence, while the open space around the figure keeps the composition spacious and contemplative. Its billowing forms and directional movement make it well suited to a room seeking an atmospheric focal point with a dramatic yet weightless character.
