An alert presence meets the viewer in Clear Head 2, where directness becomes the work’s central charge. The frog’s dark, blue-lit eyes hold an almost comic gravity, meeting attention without surrendering their mystery. Its expression feels less like a portrait than a moment of heightened awareness - vivid, watchful, and slightly beyond explanation.
Around that gaze, the flowering growth seems to press close, not as a passive backdrop but as a lively field of interruption. Yellow blossoms and broad leaves gather at the edges, giving the encounter a sense of unruly abundance. The surrounding color keeps the image playful, yet the concentrated stare introduces a pause within that exuberance, as though curiosity has briefly become stillness.
The title’s suggestion of a clear head need not mean calm or detachment. Here, clarity appears closer to alert perception: the capacity to remain fully present while the world arrives in too many bright forms at once. The frog’s face carries that balance with unusual charm, poised between comic familiarity and the strange seriousness of being seen.
